"And God said, Let there be Light: and there was Light. And God saw the Light, that it was good: and God divided the Light from the Darkness." Genesis 1:2-3
In our present state of enlightenment, Light is symbolical of Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding, in contrast to the Darkness of Ignorance, Superstition, and Hate. In order to promote the advancement of Freemasonry it is necessary to overcome the evils of ignorance and darkness with wisdom and light. In our own lives, we have been endowed with Wisdom and with Knowledge, Let us now communicate it to the ignorant for instruction and to the Wise for self-improvement. Let There Be Light!
The Brethren of Secaucus Hudson Lodge No. 72 are proud of our Masonic Library!!!!!
“The ultimate success of Masonry depends on the intelligence of her disciples.”
This quote was taken from an article written by Albert G. Mackey in 1875. Our fraternity has gone through some rough times in the past and is now experiencing newfound growth and interest. Our challenge is to keep our new members interested and to inspire them to bring new men through our doors. One way to achieve this goal is by better educating ourselves about what our fraternity is about; in turn we can further develop our young members into better men. The Secaucus Masonic Library will make available to you all of the tools that we will need to provide ourselves with the information that will help others and us understand the legacy of our craft.
Your elected officers and the Library committee are working hard to develop our library into a premier learning center for NJ Freemasonry. We ask for your support, sign out a book, and engage a brother in conversation about new things that you have learned about the fraternity, what you share with others is what might keep them coming back to the lodge
The Library Committee would like to thank the Lodges and donors of the books we have received, and also the tremendous support of the Secaucus Masonic Lodge Board of Trustees for their overwhelming support in this endeavor.
